As part of the Elphinstone Educational Forest project we wanted to include a science-based understanding of plant signalling that enables a variety of species (trees, plants, mosses and lichens) to regulate the production of compounds, in response to external cues, that triggers the production of medicinal properties.
In this paper, Dr. Anna Kreynes looks at several species found in the Elphinstone area providing the science to further appreciate traditional medicinal practices.
